Please read this information carefully.

Supplier Information / Legal Notice

Effective date: 13/05/2026

This Supplier Information / Legal Notice provides key information about the MainBay platform, the legal entity operating the platform, and the nature of the services offered through MainBay.

1. Platform operator

The MainBay platform is operated by:

MainBay Pty (Ltd)

Registration number: 2025/725878/07

Email: admin@mainbay.co.za

Website: mainbay.co.za

Country: South Africa

2. About MainBay

MainBay operates an online platform that helps customers submit vehicle-related requests and helps selected workshops and repair centres access suitable repair and service request opportunities.

MainBay may provide:

customer repair or service request forms;

customer guidance request forms;

workshop application forms;

a private workshop jobs board;

quote slot listings;

checkout and payment functionality;

email notifications;

and related platform services.

3. MainBay is a platform

MainBay is a platform, lead facilitation, and guidance service.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, MainBay is not the repair workshop, mechanic, technician, diagnostic provider, towing provider, parts supplier, insurer, vehicle manufacturer, or service provider responsible for carrying out vehicle work.

MainBay does not itself perform vehicle repairs, diagnostics, inspections, towing, maintenance, or workshop services through this platform.

4. Customer and workshop relationship

Where a customer chooses to proceed with a workshop or repair centre, the repair, service, inspection, diagnostic, towing, parts, labour, warranty, invoice, payment, and booking arrangement is strictly between the customer and that workshop or repair centre.

MainBay is not a party to that repair or service transaction.

MainBay is not responsible for:

the workshop’s diagnosis;

the workshop’s quotation;

the quality of repairs;

workmanship;

parts supplied by the workshop;

delays;

warranties;

vehicle updates;

payment disputes;

or disputes between customers and workshops.

5. Quote slots

MainBay may allow approved workshops and repair centres to purchase quote slots.

A quote slot gives an approved workshop access to customer request details for a specific repair or service opportunity.

A quote slot is not a confirmed job.

A quote slot does not guarantee that:

the customer will answer;

the customer will accept the workshop’s quote;

the customer will book the vehicle in;

the customer will proceed with repairs;

the customer will pay for any work;

or the workshop will win the job.

Quote slot purchases are subject to MainBay’s Terms of Service, Workshop Terms, Privacy Policy, and Refund Policy.

6. Customer requests and guidance

Submitting a repair, service, or guidance request through MainBay does not guarantee that a workshop will respond, provide a quotation, accept the job, or resolve the vehicle issue.

Any guidance provided by MainBay is general next-step guidance only.

MainBay does not diagnose vehicles online, and any guidance provided through the platform should not replace a physical inspection, diagnostic scan, or assessment by a suitably qualified workshop, technician, or mechanic.

7. Formal quotations

MainBay strongly advises workshops and repair centres to provide customers with a formal written quotation before carrying out any paid work.

MainBay also advises customers to only confirm a booking, authorise work, or make payment after receiving a formal written quotation from the workshop or repair centre.

Customers should confirm all inspection fees, diagnostic fees, call-out fees, towing charges, labour charges, parts prices, storage fees, and additional costs directly with the workshop before proceeding.

8. Payments

Payments made through MainBay may be processed through Shopify or supported payment providers.

MainBay does not store full card details on its own systems.

Payments made by workshops for quote slots are payments for platform access to selected customer request opportunities, not payments for guaranteed jobs or guaranteed customer bookings.

Payments made directly by customers to workshops are separate transactions between the customer and the workshop and are not processed, controlled, or managed by MainBay unless expressly stated otherwise.

9. Policies and terms

Use of MainBay is governed by MainBay’s published policies and terms, including where applicable:

Terms of Service;

Customer Request Terms;

Workshop Terms;

Privacy Policy;

Refund Policy;

Cookie Policy;

and any other terms displayed during a request, application, checkout, or platform flow.

If there is a conflict between this Legal Notice and a more specific policy, the more specific policy applies to that specific situation.

10. Privacy and personal information

MainBay processes personal information to operate the platform, receive customer requests, review workshop applications, route suitable requests, process quote slot purchases, communicate with users, and protect the platform.

MainBay’s handling of personal information is explained in the Privacy Policy.

Workshops that receive customer information through MainBay may only use that information for the purpose of responding to the customer’s specific request.

11. Applicable law

This Legal Notice and the use of the MainBay platform are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
